FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about RobKellerMD and our world class supplements
Q: Can I purchase from your website if I live in Canada or another country?

A: Absolutely! We welcome all international orders. Shipping to anywhere in Canada costs the same as shipping within the USA! For our other international customers we might suggest placing a multi-bottle order (3 month supply), as this will reduce the per-bottle cost of shipping to around that of a USA or Canadian monthly order, and will help ensure that there is no gap between when your last order is consumed and your next order arrives.

Q: What is an Antioxidant?

A: An antioxidant is a molecule or even a single atom with an extra electron. These extra electrons stabilize free radicals. Your antioxidant defense system shields your cells from free radical damage. Glutathione functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin. Glutathione levels can indicate our state of health and are used as a predictor of longevity. When you increase your Glutathione level you will experience increased energy as your body is detoxified and your immune system is strengthened.

Q: What role does Glutathione play in maintaining a strong immune system?

A: Virtually every cell in your body, not just in your immune system, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes has to create ATP, which is a substance used for energy. The creation of ATP involves a whole series of chemical reactions, many of which utilize oxygen. Simply stated, we are oxygen based organisms; we live on oxygen. When oxygen is consumed in the generation of ATP it creates a fire, and that fire is called an “Oxidant”. To put this fire out you need a very good “Antioxidant”. Many antioxidants are effective at counteracting one or two types of oxidative stress, whereas Glutathione has been shown to be effective in combating all forms of oxidative stress.

Q: Do we produce the same amount of Glutathione throughout our lifetime, or does it decrease as we age?

A: Starting in the mid twenties our Glutathione levels begin to decrease. If we think about the stressful environment we live in, the polluted air we breathe and the less than wonderful food we eat all add to stress on the body's natural ability to produce and maintain Glutathione. Add to that the startling statistic that 70% of the U.S. population is sleep deprived, Glutathione levels are likely to decrease much more rapidly. With all these factors to consider it is evident that the body's Glutathione level does decrease during the aging process.

Q: What happens when we have insufficient levels of Glutathione in our body?

A: Glutathione is responsible for eliminating the oxidants that are created as a byproduct of the production of ATP in your cells. If there is not sufficient availability of Glutathione in your body to eliminate these oxidants that are constantly being produced by your cells, then your cells become unable to generate energy at full potential. Additionally, you wind up with elevated amounts of oxidants in your body. The medical literature supports the fact that too many oxidants in your body, coupled with a lack of sufficient levels of antioxidants (Glutathione) to eliminate them, can result in accelerated cellular aging.

Q: Will not having enough Glutathione in my body increase the potential for accelerated cellular damage?

A: Absolutely! Your body works as an electrochemical circuit, and ATP, the energy substance that is produced by all of those little furnaces in each cell of your body called mitochondria are responsible for the ability of each of your cells to function at maximum capacity. If you do not have enough Glutathione in your body to counteract and eliminate the oxidants that are the byproduct of this energy creation process, your cells quickly begin to lose their ability to function at peak capacity. When this occurs your energy levels can drop significantly, your ability to exercise is impaired and the excess buildup of oxidants can begin to cause damage to your cells.

Q: How does Glutathione boost my immune system?

A: Glutathione is a naturally occurring molecule within our cells that maintain the body's ability to fight off oxidation. The versatility of Glutathione as an antioxidant and antitoxin, helps the body stay healthy and increase the body's immune defense system against invading environmental and nutritional factors the body encounter on a daily basis. Given that Glutathione is your body's own natural defense, and can do the job of any and all other antioxidants available to you, the best choice would be to ensure that you have sufficient levels of available at all times. This in turn, boosts the overall immune system to support your health and wellness.

Q: What makes your Original Glutathione Formula™ so different from other pure Glutathione supplement available?

A: If you Google Glutathione, you will find that 80% of the products being offered for sale are simply pure Glutathione. This is troubling because if you simply ingest pure Glutathione it will be broken down into its component parts by the acid in your stomach, and simply stated, will never get into your body in a form that can be used. It has often been stated that the most expensive nutritional supplement you will ever purchase is the one that doesn't work. Our Original Glutathione Formula™ is the result of over three years of exhaustive experimentation, all culminating in the creation of a patent pending blend of the appropriate ingredients in proportionally correct amounts, enabling it to:

1) Utilize the digestive system as a tool, not a hurdle.

2) Be preferentially absorbed (because not everything you put into your mouth gets absorbed into your body).

3) Have the ability to pass through two critical membranes - one at the entrance to the cell, and a second at the entrance to that furnace inside each cell called the mitochondria.

4) Have the ability to recycle the spent Glutathione through the liver after it has been utilized to eliminate the oxidants that are the byproduct of ATP production within the mitochondria.

Q: Will Glutathione supplementation improve my energy and stamina, and can it improve my ability to recover from a strenuous workout?

A: In the first 10 minutes of aerobic exercise you burn as much as 40% of the available Glutathione in your muscle tissue. As we exercise, the mitochondria in our cells are working at an accelerated pace to create enough ATP (energy) to supply the muscles we are using. This accelerated increase in ATP production causes a corresponding increase in the production of oxidants, the byproduct of ATP production. If there is not enough Glutathione in your body to facilitate the continued elimination of these elevated oxidant levels, the capacity of your mitochondria to continue to produce ATP at this increased level can become significantly impaired. Muscle soreness can also occur when you exercise in the absence of a sufficient level of available Glutathione in your body. As a result of this Glutathione deficit, your mitochondria may become oxygen starved resulting in Anaerobic Glycolysis, when the mitochondria burn sugar without oxygen to create energy. This causes the production and accumulation of lactic acid, which is responsible for the muscle pain we sometimes experience after a strenuous workout. So by increasing the Glutathione in your body, you decrease accumulated lactic acid, and by doing that, you can work out more frequently because your muscles recover more quickly. The more efficiently each cell in your body operates, the more ATP it can produce, the more ATP your cells produce, the more energy you will have available. If you ensure that your body is amply supplied with Glutathione your cells will be able to more effectively and efficiently remove those oxidants.

Q: What is a Free Radical?

A: Electrically unstable atoms or molecules that attempt to re-stabilize by stealing electrons from other atoms or molecules. This process passes along this electrical instability to adjacent atoms or molecules causing an expanding cascade of instability as this process repeats and accelerates. Simply stated, free radicals are electrically charged molecules that are a byproduct of your metabolism and damage your body.

Q: What is Oxidative Stress?

A: The sum total of all free radicals being created as a result of normal metabolic function, as well as, the free radicals generated from exposure to external stresses such as smoking, over processed foods, UV radiation, airborne toxins, polluted water, etc.
