Adding A Nutritional Boost With Smoothies

RKMD Blog 10 years ago

It’s a great idea to add more vitamins and fiber to your diet; why not do it the painless way with a delicious homemade smoothie? Making your own smoothies allows you complete control over the portion sizes and ingredients; you won’t have to worry about someone sneaking refined sugar or high-fructose corn syrup into the mix! Dust off that blender and let’s explore some recipes.

For a pumpkin-pie taste that can’t be beat, we like the Detoxinista’s pumpkin spice green smoothie! Be sure to get spinach that looks fresh and has crisp stems; wilted greens won’t have the same amount of nutrition. And feel free to substitute dairy milk if you prefer.

Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie (Detoxinista.com)

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup pumpkin puree
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 2 large handfuls fresh spinach
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 soft Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1½ cups water or almond milk
  • 2 handfuls of ice

This delicious summery smoothie is a cool way to start your day. Swiss chard is a superfood that’s high in calcium and potassium.

For a virgin pina colada flavor, we like this simple breakfast smoothie. Add flaked coconut to the top for a more tropical look!

  • ¼ cup vanilla (or coconut) flavored yogurt

The best thing about making your own smoothies is that you can customize them! Many smoothie shops will add vitamins and supplements for a fee, but why not add your own? If you could use a boost of energy and a little help for your immune system, we recommend adding some of our Glutathione Rapid Boost™ supplement to your smoothie for a nutritional boost that fits your busy schedule.

If you have promised yourself you’d eat healthier this year, smoothies can be a great way to start! And if you’d like an extra healthy boost, try an energy drink that is actually good for you. Glutathione Rapid Boost™ is a supplement that utilizes Dr. Robert H. Keller’s patented Glutathione technology, which can help your body to defend itself against aging, cellular damage, and disease. GRB™ also contains other nutrients such as calcium for good bone health, L-theanine (an amino acid found in green tea that can give you a energy boost without caffeine), and whey protein for muscle strength.
