Keeping Your Balance With Probiotics

RKMD Blog 10 years ago

You may not know they’re there, but your digestive system depends on them! Probiotics are “good,” helpful bacteria that live in your digestive tract and keep harmful bacteria away. Sometimes, the balance of these bacteria is disrupted, most often because antibiotics taken for an infection have killed off both good and bad bacteria in your system; however, stress and changes in diet can also affect the balance of bacteria in your system.

A decrease in helpful bacteria may lead to unpleasant symptoms like abdominal gas, cramping and diarrhea, as well as an increase in yeast and urinary infections.  The good news is that you can replenish your probiotics to restore that delicate balance and help you feel better! Some probiotics are naturally found in foods such as yogurt, but supplements are also available that provide a more direct method of taking in these necessary bacteria.

The use of probiotic supplements can help clear up digestive symptoms caused by stress, antibiotic use and unbalanced diet, and may even ease the inflammatory response of Crohn’s Disease. Find out the difference between probiotics and digestive enzymes.

Naturally Occurring Probiotics in Diet

Remember that supplements are designed to help you bridge the gap between your nutritional needs and requirements.  Since we can’t always manage a balanced diet with our busy lifestyle, it’s important to add a quality supplement regime for optimal health and wellness.  However, you can (and should) always look for a means of adding better nutritional choices to your diet.

Here are some other natural sources of essential probiotics.  Add them to your grocery cart on a weekly basis for better health.

  • Yogurt
  • Kefir
  • Sauerkraut
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Miso Soup
  • Kimchi
  • Kombucha Tea
  • Tempeh

Probiotics RobKeller Supplements

If you’re interested in boosting your digestive health with a supplement, we suggest our G.I. Balance™ (GIB) supplement. Dr. Rob Keller personally selected these specific probiotics which he felt were most beneficial for general support of digestive health; he chose them based on how well they thrive in your intestine and how well they control the growth of harmful bacteria.

GIB’s mix of three powerful probiotics, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Bifidobacteria longum, can help your body maintain its balance of good and bad bacteria and can even help shorten the time antibiotics disrupt that balance. In addition, GIB supports your urinary and  intestinal health while providing an immune system boost. And the benefits don’t stop there! GIB may help to relieve the symptoms of lactose sensitivity and can also help you maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Research is still being done all over the world to discover more ways these helpful bacteria can improve our health from the inside out; some studies have found that probiotics may help ease the symptoms of skin ailments, allergies and autoimmune disorders.

Nourish your health and vitality from the inside out with our family of quality supplements.
